Who we are
GoGeter (the "Platform") is operated by GoGeter Ltd. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at privacy@gogeter.com.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the Platform safely and well. In practice that falls into three buckets:
Information you give us
- Account data — name, email, mobile number, password hash, and optional profile photo;
- Business data — listings, services, prices, photos, opening hours, certifications and any text you publish;
- Messages — enquiries, replies, reviews and any content you submit through the Platform.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage — pages viewed, listings clicked, search terms, broad city-level location derived from IP;
- Device — browser type, operating system, screen size, language;
- Cookies and similar — see our Cookie Policy for the full list.
Information from third parties
- OAuth profile basics if you sign in with Google, Facebook or Apple;
- Payment confirmations from our payment processor (we never see your full card number).
How we use your data
We use personal data only for the purposes set out below, and only on a lawful basis (contract, legitimate interests, consent, or legal obligation).

Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We do share limited information with:
- The other side of a booking — the customer or business you transact with sees the contact details needed to deliver the work;
- Service providers — hosting (AWS), email (SendGrid), payments (Stripe), analytics (Plausible). Each is bound by a data-processing agreement;
- Authorities — when required by a valid legal request, and only the minimum necessary.
If we are ever part of a merger or sale, we will transfer data under the same protections you have today and tell you before anything changes.
International transfers
Our servers are primarily in the EU and US. When we transfer personal data outside your home country we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or your explicit consent — whichever is appropriate.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, then delete or anonymise it. Typical retention:
- Active accounts — for as long as you use GoGeter;
- Closed accounts — 90 days, then deleted or anonymised (tax records may be kept longer where the law requires);
- Booking and invoice records — 7 years for tax compliance;
- Server access logs — 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, etc.) you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold on you;
- correct it if it is wrong or out of date;
- have it deleted ("right to be forgotten");
- port it to another service in a machine-readable format;
- object to certain processing, including marketing;
- withdraw a consent you previously gave us.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@gogeter.com. We respond within 30 days and will never charge you for a reasonable request.
How we protect your data
We use industry-standard safeguards: TLS for data in transit, encrypted databases at rest, hashed passwords, audited access controls, regular penetration testing, and a defined incident-response process. No system is 100% secure, but if a breach affects you we will notify you and the relevant authority without undue delay.
Children
GoGeter is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows the most recent version, and for material changes we will email registered users or show a clear in-app banner before the changes take effect.
